I found a US Army issue sleeping bag for sale but the guy selling it doesn’t know if it’s for moderate or extreme cold weather. I know that one will be heavier/bulkier than the other but I don’t have anything to compare it to. Is there any other way to tell?

I love camping, and I got a new sleeping bag recently, I want to know the process works make a sleeping bag, how do they cut fabric, to make a hood, a sole, the front panel and back panel, if so many sleeping bags in mass-production, how they cut the fabric?
I noticed that mylar is used in emergency sleeping bags. I also noticed that it is really light. Why isn’t mylar used in created commercial sleeping bags?
